After School Program
Smile 4 Therapy's after-school programs give a good opportunity for children to get more support while reinforcing important academic skills. These programs are made to match the Ontario curriculum and provide extra help in both key academic subjects and life skills.

Reading comprehension
is an important part of our after-school program. Through assisted reading activities, children work one-on-one with the therapist to read and discuss stories. This helps improve their understanding of text and critical thinking skills. For example, they will read a story together and then talk about the main characters, themes, and possible story prediction which helps them get a deeper understanding of what they read.

spelling and vocabulary development
We also focus on spelling and vocabulary development. Using things like visual aids and word recognition activities, children are encouraged to practice spelling and expand their vocabulary in fun, engaging ways. By connecting words with pictures and everyday experiences, children are better able to remember and apply what they’ve learned across other settings.

math
In math, we help children develop a strong foundation by using hands-on activities to practice addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Children can solve word problems that reflect real life events, like counting objects or calculating how much change to give to a cashier within a store. This approach helps children see the relevance of math in their daily lives.

Science and technology
Science and technology are taught through a mix of tools and real-life observations. With digital tools and online resources, children can explore concepts like ecosystems, weather patterns, and energy in a fun, engaging way. This approach fosters critical thinking and helps children understand how science applies to the world around them.

life skills
We also encourage important life skills such as time management and organization. Children are taught how to use schedules and timers to stay on track with their homework and tasks. These skills promote independence and help children build habits that will support their academic success and overall development
